Luis Esteban Borunda went through great measures in an effort to sexually solicit a 13-year-old girl, though in reality he was talking to an undercover officer posing as a child on an app, authorities announced.

According to police, on Tuesday, Aug. 22, Borunda launched an inappropriate text chat with what he believed was an underage girl, but was in fact a special agent with the Fort Meade Army Criminal Investigation Office acting as the teen.

As part of his scheme, the 65-year-old man sent a filtered photo of himself and suggested meeting up with her at a location in Anne Arundel County this week.

When he arrived, the Essex resident was arrested by State Police troopers who were ready and waiting for him.

Borunda was charged with one count of sexual solicitation of a minor. He is being held without bond at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.

Investigators are concerned there may have been other victims who have yet to come forward, so parents who have children who may have come into contact with Borunda have been asked to contact police by calling 1-800-637-5437.
